Crawford Manor is a 100-unit, non-profit apartment complex located on the beautiful 150 acre campus of Hoosier Village Retirement Center in Boone County, northwest of Indianapolis. Crawford Manor provides a secure living environment in a country setting, but remains close to the conveniences of the city. Crawford Manor is near the quaint village of Zionsville as well as the opportunities located in the northwest corner of Indianapolis. These HUD subsidized apartments are available to persons aged 62 years or older and persons needing a specially-designed unit. Crawford Manor features comfortable unfurnished studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units, and ten specially designed apartments. Those qualifying for rental assistance pay no more than 30% of the family's monthly adjusted income for rent. Crawford Manor is managed and supported by Baptist Homes of Indiana, Inc., one of the area's premier health care providers for senior citizens. If you would like to submit an application, one can be downloaded and mailed to Crawford Manor. Income Guidelines Section 8 "very low" income limits are set at 50 percent of the area median income. Section 8 "extremely low" income limits are set at 30 percent of the area median income. At least 40 percent of all units will be rented to applicants who meet the "extremely low" income limit. Resident Services Program The Resident Services Program is designed to help Crawford Manor residents locate resources and services in the community. Residents are interviewed within a week of moving into Crawford Manor so that any special services or needs can be identified and addressed. Policy for Processing Applications for Crawford Manor Upon request for information and/or an application, all inquiries will be given a 6-page application form, a copy of our Resident Selection Plan, a brochure describing Crawford Manor, and a copy of this policy. Completed applications will be processed and placed on the waiting list on a First Received/First Reviewed basis, and in accordance with criteria as spelled out in the Tenant Selection Plan. For an application to be "completed", it must be signed. If an application is signed by someone other than the Applicant it will be necessary to show proof of a "Power of Attorney", or other document authorizing the signature. Upon receipt of an application, screening will be done immediately. You will be notified in writing of acceptance or rejection. When a unit is available, it will be offered to the first eligible applicant on the waiting list. Income and expense will be verified at that time. When processing a request for an Accessible unit, a "Verification of Need" form will be sent to the health care provider. A Security deposit is not required until time of Move-In.
